Thanksgiving:
A true immigrant holiday: Not everyone thinks the Fourth
of July is a special holiday, but every country in the world does
have a celebration of its birth. Likewise, Christmas and New Year’s
are not bound by any national boundaries.

Honoring
Saint Martin de Porres with joy: The
Cathedral was full as the Archdiocese joyfully celebrated the 42nd
anniversary of the canonization of Saint Martin de Porres.

Sacred
Heart opens $2.4 million community center: The
young athletes at Sacred Heart Parish and School in Royersford are

Vocation: Answering the call to lifelong companionship and fatherhood:
It
was the feast of St. Joseph when William J. Guy Jr. first called Caroline
Parker to ask her out. What Bill didn’t know was that she had
recently prayed a novena to St. Jude asking that her future husband

Bishops
unite for fall general meeting
Finishing
up their business a day earlier than originally scheduled, the U.S.
bishops concluded their fall general meeting in Washington Nov. 17 with
a flurry of votes on a national catechism for adults, a multi-year pastoral
initiative on marriage, and a historic decision to join a national ecumenical
forum. 'Thérèse'
movie: Doing big things the little way
Catholics in the Philadelphia region love the Little Flower, and they
love the film based on her life, “Thérèse.”
In fact, they love it so much that St. Luke Films has arranged to bring
it back to the area in time for Christmas. Adoption:
'What being pro-life is all about'
It’s
appropriate that the adopted son of Marty and Garrett Aguilar of St.
Monica Parish in Berwyn is being baptized Saturday, Nov. 27.
The
Manfredonias: Expanding the Catholic voice
If
there was ever a time to put into action the Pope’s call for more
Catholic participation in the media, it’s now. Matthew
Kelly: Just in time for the holidays
“Are you ready for Christmas?” asks Matthew Kelly, but he
doesn’t mean are all the presents bought, outfits picked out and
Christmas dinner cooked. What he wants to know is: ‘Are you spiritually
ready for Christmas?’ Year
of the Eucharist: The power of the Eucharist
During
this Year of the Eucharist, parishioners throughout the Archdiocese
of Philadelphia will share their testimonies of faith in the Real Presence
of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament. One of these heart-felt stories
may re-ignite the faith of someone who is struggling to accept this
inestimable mystery of our Faith. Together, let us discover Him anew. |

Story
¡Muchas
Gracias! Thankful thoughts from Spain: I
may not be contending with family members for the last piece of Mom’s
pumpkin pie this year, but Thanksgiving Day will be just as satisfying
— though not necessarily in regards to food.
